EVENT OPERATIONS INTERN
JOB I.D: 006-08
DEPARTMENT: Event Services
TYPE: Non-Exempt/ Internship/40 hours a week
REPORTS TO: Manager of Guest Services & Coordinator of Event Services
COMPENSATION: $5.85/hour or can be applied for course credit
START DATE: September 2008
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
• Assist in Event Operations matters as assigned for Toyota Center events (Sporting Events, Concerts, Shows, & Conferences, Banquets, Meetings & Internal Events).
• Assist with event operations and set-up including games, concerts, shows and other events as assigned.
• Play a vital role in gathering/providing the necessary information to all other departments involved in the events.
• Assist with guest correspondence and special requests via email, telephone and in person.
• Handle general office duties including data entry, answering/checking phone mail and email, filing, etc.
• Coordinate and execute Guest Services Staff incentive and quality control programs.
• General support of Event Operations Department in daily operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors degree or higher preferred. Degrees in related field preferred.
• Candidate should be self-motivated, organized, professional, mature and detail oriented.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience with customer service. Guest relations and/or staffing preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks essential.
• Must enjoy working with people.
• Flexibility to work long days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, if necessary.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint and familiarity with Microsoft Outlook preferred.
